Wiki Moderate Sedation Codes

I was curious what everyone is doing for the moderate sedation. We are only getting paid from Medicare and the Medicare Hmo's for the Moderate Sedation (G0500) but other insurance companies such as Wellmark and Medicaid we are billing out the moderate sedation (99152) and getting denied. Is anyone else having this problem?

We are having the same problem. We were getting paid with 99152 & 99153 until 07/01/17. It seems something has changed after July 1st. I did listen to the AAPC webinar on moderate sedation codes and it stated for gastro Endoscopy we should be using G0500 for all insurance. So I have been trying the G code which has helped for UHC and Cigna but not Blue Cross Blue Shield. Our Medicaid states G0500. 99152 or 99153 are not separately payable.

Interested what others have experienced.
