I have a question regarding a procedure being done by one of our pain
management doctors which is called a mild procedure. I would like to
know if anyone has done these and the coding used to get this paid. We have just started doing this and info i found said that is was investigational and to use an unlisted code of 65999. Our doctor wants
to use 63030, which i think may be overcoding for this procedure. Any
info would be appreciated.

Procedure note

Under local anesthesia and minimal sedation,a tube the diameter of a pencil
is placed in the back down to the outside of the spine. This allows the
doctor to stay outside the spinal canal while removing tiny pieces of tissue and bone that are pressing on the nerves.

This is an out-patient procedure and only requires an adhesive bandage for
closure.
