My doc excised a soft tissue mass which path came back as chronic benign ulceration. Upon removing this mass off of the 5th metatarsal area, doc felt there was not enough tissue to cover the bone so he took part of the abductor digiti minimi tendon and split it redirected it to cover the bone and then close.
Can I charge for this since he did it to close the wound? What would I charge? Was looking at 27690 hoping to avoid unlisted but..........
AND would you use ulcer dx or benign mass dx or both? I think pt had an ulcer that skin grew over, was infected and there was a hair in it, so it kind of made a mass over the hair.
