Our facility bills POS 22 (outpatient hospital), where incident-to rules do not apply. Our pharmacists want to start performing AWVs. These visits would be getting billed as a professional service on the CMS-1500 only and under the name of the supervising provider. Both the coding and billing staff have reservations about this. To us, this is the definition of incident-to. We have reached out to our MAC (Novitas), who have not given us a straight answer. Is anyone familiar with this and able to provide some insight?
