This question is for a registered dietitian who owns her own wellness office. All billing is private and non-Medicare
She uses codes 97802-4 for her billing codes.
She has a question about her clients that are counseled via video-chats. Is this considered “face to face” still?
They used a place of service code -02 for telehealth and it got rejected by the insurance company.
I told her to use modifier 95 as the above codes are on the approved list for this modifier in Appendix P.
In addition, they need a correct place of service code. What is the determining factor in a face to face video chat? Is it where the prover is (office visit), where the client is (home visit) or simply a telehealth visit?
Thanks in advance for your help!
