I had a few coding questions and was hoping someone out there might be able to help me out.
If a doctor does a FNA biopsy (thyroid) with an ultrasound guidance, which CPT code would be used? If the doctor performs the biopsy on two nodules, then which CPT codes would be used? What is the CPT code for an ultrasound guidance for needle placement?
Also lets say a doctor sees a patient and does a full exam/history. Then the doctor does a biopsy on that same patient on the same day. Which modifiers would be added to the office visit and biopsy?
