Good day all,
I have a question; In the hospital setting sometimes the providers work with Physical therapy or speech therapy? The provider notes that they discussed case with the therapist.
Can this be counted as discussion of case with another health care provider ?

The 2021 AMA outpatient guidelines define:
External physician or other qualified health care professional: An external physician or other qualified health care professional who is not in the same group practice or is of a different specialty or subspecialty. This includes licensed professionals who are practicing independently. The individual may also be a facility or organizational provider such as from a hospital, nursing facility, or home health care agency.
I would consider the physician discussing the care with a physical therapist or speech therapist as discussion of management or test interpretation under data.
