Wiki LPC code for new patient

Hello All!
I just starting with a LPC. Are there specific codes that the counselor needs to use for a new patient visit? I don't want to give him the new pt e/m codes because he doesn't examine the body. Am I wrong about this? Any help would be appreciated.

You will want to use codes from the Psychiatry Services section of the CPT book for Masters Level counselors. They should not be using the normal E&M codes. Those are reserved for Psychiatrist, Physician assistant or Psych Nurse.
