We have both of these counselors in the clinic setting and are currently billing incident to the supervising physician. Are we only limited to 99211 or can we bill other codes? The research that I’ve done is most payers don’t recognize their licensure to bill independently only our state medicaid recognizes the LISAC to bill H0001. The LISAC rarely sees patients for substance abuse disorders and really only behavioral health Dx’s. It seems this would be outside of his scope seeing patients with these dx’s?? Anyone else have experience with billing these types of providers?
