Wiki LCSW coding

Hi,
My facility has a new LCSW who will be seeing patients for care planning, etc. Would we bill e/m levels? Also, if she does psychotherapy, she can use the usual psychotherapy codes right? I'm assuming both questions are a yes because the codes say 'physician or qualified health care professional'.

She would bill the 90832-90837 codes for any counseling that she does. I'm not sure what care planning entails but she cannot bill E/M codes, only the psychotherapy codes.

The LCSW is not allowed to code an E/M. Only medical providers such as MD, DO and NP can code an E/M.
