Hello,
Our provider performed L3-L4 laminectomy with diskectomy, same level. Postoperative diagnosis is: Severe L3-L4 spinal stenosis from a large disk herniation. We're not sure if we code the herniation (63030) because it is the underlying condition or if we code the stenosis (63047,63048) because the issue being treated now is the spinal stenosis. Thank you for your help and let me know if it would be helpful if I provided the op note.
