With one group, they currently bill all their lab services with their lab director/pathologist as the rendering provider on the claim. They are between lab directors/pathologists now and as they are waiting on their new lab director/pathologist to become fully credentialed, we are looking at how we could bill out our non-pathology services i.e. urine PCR, BMP, CBC, PSA, Alkaline , Phos, glucose ,BUN and other non-pathology under a urologist. We used to do this many years ago but have not done so in a few years.

Can you provide us with some information about whether we could bill the services mentioned above under a urologist NPI?

What documentation changes need to be made? What other implications should we consider?

Thanks
