Wiki Kyphoplasty for traumatic injury

I have spinal surgeons who are wanting to perform Kyphoplasty on patients with traumatic injuries. However, Kyphoplasty is traditionally approved for patients with osteoporosis and getting approval is difficult in patients without osteoporosis. Can anyone give me any insights to this subject
