If I am coding a chart for a surgeon for a total knee replacement--Is the implanted knee system billed separately by the hospital? Or is it included in the CPT code for the knee replacement surgery? My first thoughts were that I only code the knee surgery, but then I got to second guessing myself on how to address the supplies used during the surgery.
