My Surgeon and I are having difficulty trying to determine which is the appropriate CPT for the procedure performed?? Please Help
The Knee was treated first. Two Large Cannlas were put in, one laterally and one medially. I then used tube irrigation to irrigate out the joint. When the needles were first put in, there was a lot of pus that came out., and then this cleared. I moved the joint around to get all of the pus irrigated. When it was clear the cannulas were removed. The wounds were closed with Prolene.
He has a question mark listed by 20610... However I just feel that there should be a more in depth code for this procedure. He explained to me that the cannuals equal to an arhroscope.
Any suggestions would be great!
