There is an opportunity for a Certified Medical Coder or LPN/RN with Emergency Department coding experience in the Atlanta, Georgia area. The position is a 3-4 month temporary, preferably full-time position, within Hughes Spalding Emergency Department. We are in need of someone with nursing and charting knowledge that has been in the recent clinical/coding field more than 3 years. This person needs to be knowledgeable in laboratory tests, imaging reports and orders, pharmaceutical orders and administration.

This job function will require a review of the procedures, including physician dictation/notes in the medical chart or in the charting system Chartmaxx . This will encompass an audit of the charge capture worksheets to ensure all procedures are counted in a manual level of care billing process. He or she will utilize and recalculate the worksheets that determine the level of care code and verify the services or supplies used in the Emergency Department. They will document in excel any changes to the charge level originally provided.
