Im curious does anyone bill for the JADA Removal? Do you use and unlisted code. If so, what code are you using as a comparison code?
TIA

For anyone wanting to know more about how the JADA is applied, removed and the required follow-up use this link. https://www.organon.com/canada-en/wp-content/uploads/sites/5/2024/08/JADA-Quick-Reference-Guide.pdf . There is currently no CPT code for this procedure so you would report 59899. When you bill, you would be charging for the complete procedure, from the insertion, to monitoring to ensure the bleeding has stopped, to removal and then the 30 minute observation period as follow-up to ensure bleeding does not return. You should not code for the removal separately, but rather incorporate all the work into one charge using the unlisted code. Previous threads has suggested comparison codes such as PP curettage (59160), 58533 (endometrial ablation) or 58563 (endometrial ablation with hysteroscopy). You should ask your provider to indicate which procedure they think the work was closest to. As has been previously discussed on this topic on this forum back in 2023, if your payer will not accept an unlisted code, you will add a modifier -22 to the delivery code for the use of this system and try to get reimbursed that way.Im curious does anyone bill for the JADA Removal?
