Wiki "J" codes

Take your documentation and add the drug total for the entire date, for example mgs. So if you have several injections of the same drug, you total all of the drug together. Look at the code in the HCPCS book and be sure that the documentation reflects the measurement accurately, mgs, GM, per dose.

For example:
30 mgs of Kenalog given per 1 ML.
Kenalog is J3301 = 10 mg unit by the HCPCS code description.

30/10 = 3 units

Note: CC = ML
Note #2: Per dose is bill as a single unit as each syringe is a preloaded unit. You do not bill the waste for per dosage drugs.
