IF there are no findings do we bill for ivus?

lntravascular ultrasound:
At this point, a 260 Bentson wire was advanced through the sheath into the superior vena cava. A 035 Volcano IVUS catheter is advanced where intravascular ultrasound of the left external iliac vein, left common iliac vein, and inferior vena cava is obtained.
Findings: No obvious hemodynamically significant stenosis or external compression is noted.

Yes. There was a reason that the procedure was performed, correct? What was the preprocedural diagnosis?

AAPC ICD-10-CM Expert, p. G36,
Section IV. Diagnostic Coding and Reporting Guidelines for Outpatient Services

N. Ambulatory surgery

For ambulatory surgery, code the diagnosis for which the surgery was performed. If the postoperative diagnosis is known to be different from the preoperative diagnosis at the time the diagnosis is confirmed, select the postoperative diagnosis for coding, since it is the most definitive.
