Wiki IUD Insertion while in Surgery

Can anyone help with this? My doctor is asking if she can insert a patients IUD while in surgery maybe doing a hyst D&C or something like that. Do any doctors do this and do they get paid separately for the insertion?

My practice does this frequently and we have no problem being reimbursed for the services. We always verify coverage prior to the procedure and we provide the IUD not the hospital. Be sure to bill with appropriate modifiers and correct rvu sequencing. Also know that some hospitals carry the IUDs and depending on the payor, you may need to use their IUD.
