Wiki IR Training wanted

Hello.

I am a remote coder/contractor. I am looking for information on how to best get trained as a IR coder. Training that is inexpensive or ideas of how to teach myself would be great! Thank you and have a great day.

Hi Katie, the CIRCC Study Guide and the practice exam are available from AAPC. These are both very helpful. At the back of the study guide there are some questions/answers plus self-study cases. There are rationales provided for both the practice exam and the self-study cases.

Unfortunately, the annual coding changes make it hard to find great material for free on the Internet. The Internet is still very useful for finding additional explanations when you hit upon difficult issues. You just have to be super careful to study current material due to the coding changes.
