I just read the new billing guidelines for bevacizumab on my noridian (medicare) site. It states to stop using the J3590 and use Q9977 to report the use of avastin. The problem is I have always used J9035. The article claims the new code Q9977 is for use of all compounded injectable drugs. Here is a link to the article I'm talking about.

So, should I be billing with the code I've always used or use the new code. We are looking into buying the avastin in single use injectable form that comes with a 1.25 mg dose in it.
Please shed some light on how I should proceed to bill for intravitreal avastin.
Thanks!
