Hi All,

This is Ravi i have a scenario that the patient was diagnosed with interstitial cystitis so the doctor will going to administer intravesical injection and the drug name is cystistat 0.8mg/ml (40mg).how to code this scenario, we are not billing unlisted codes here.Please help me with this the injection is though catheter .

Ravi - I saw your other post about this as well and understand that you have limited info as to what took place. From what you are saying and the little bit of research I did on the drug this sounds more like a bladder instillation rather than a bladder injection. You are probably going to use CPT code 51700. If (and only if) you also purchased the drug, you would need to bill the J code for the drug as well.
