hello,
could someone help me with coding a intraoperative consult? i was thinking to use the 99499 unlisted code, others are using 99251 which i am not to sure about. for example my doctor was asked to come to the OR for a consult, he gave his opinion and left. per AMA guidelines a consult is e/m services provided at the request of another physician or appropriate source to either recommend care for a specific condition or problem or to determine whether to accept responsiblity for ongoing management of the patients entier care or for the care of a specific condition or problem. my physician is not doing neither of the above they are just asking his opnion please help with any resources that you might have to allow me to support my decision
