I am hoping for some insight on this......
My hand surgeon did a revision amputation of three fingers and also did a traumatic wound closure with an application of a wound VAC. The repair is listed as a simple fashion, but he goes on to say "the wound having been provisionally closed with exposed muscle and bone end evident, a wound VAC was chosen for coverage".
I am not finding a code for the application of a wound VAC during a surgical procedure.
Do you think this would qualify as a complex repair?
