Ok, here's the thing......I have been approached to find out the following information:
Internist and Orthopedic Dr. in joint venture, Internist will be seeing patients for surgery clearance, and will do the subsequent follow up inpatient for two days prior to surgery, then one follow up in office for comidin.
Internist will be doing H&P office visits: NP 99201-99205
Subsequent hospital visits: 99231-99239
I think I have these right, now for the follow up:
Depending on insurance which most do, isn't the follow up going to be a global or can they(internist) bill for the visit for monitoring medication, or would this be inclusive to the orthopedic follow up visits.
Can I use a modifier for the monitoring to get the doctor paid?
Any help is appreciated.
