Wiki intent of 27132

Patient is status post corrective intramedullary osteotomy of proximal femur for realignment for a bowing deformity. Now requires a THR for OA and developmental dysplasia. While the discription for 27132 THR is conversion of previous HIP surgery to total hip, I have seen that the intent of 27132 in regards to previous surgery covers any previous SURGERY (hip not being specified), where a skin incision was made. Would 27132 be appropriate under these circumstances?

According to the CPT Assistant 27132 is used when there has been "previous major reconstructive surgery". If left open for interpretation I would say that you could use it, especially if there was an implant involved in the prior surgery.
