My physician is doing a transpedicular decompression on L3-4 and L4-5. Before he did this, he goes through and loosened all the screws that were put in on the previous fusion. He talks about loosening and re-tightening the screws and also distracting and compressing the screws. He never removes any of the screws. He did not do the revision of the screws in order to do the decompression. He did all the work on the screws before he even started the decompression.

What can I code for the work on the screws? Is there a code for revision of instrumentation?
