I am looking for any information/article about whether or not a physician can sign off on another physicians inpt hospital record without actually seeing the patient face to face. These would be for initial or subseq visits only.

I found info about Shared/Split, but this has to do with NPP, or PA and we are dealing with an actual licensed physician with another licensed physician.

The situation is that we hired a Cardiologist and we are waiting for the Cardiologist to be credentialled with several insurance companies (which can take months). We have another Cardiologist (that is credentialled) that would like to review the inpt records and sign off on the inpt record, "agree with above," so we are able to bill for the services rendered under the credentialled physicians info.

Thank in advance
