I need help double checking my work

A 34-year-old woman is 4 weeks postpartum and is having an exacerbation of her asthma with COPD. She quit smoking two weeks ago.

Dx- 493.22 do I code for tobacco use and postpartum?

6 weeks post delivery is coded with a chapter 11 code using the appropriate 5digit to indicate post partum.

Did your doc provide prenatal care and attend delivery? If patient had normal delivery and currently normal antepartum period except this why wasn't she sent back to PCP or pulmonary specialist? I would not use tobacco code as her current status is quit unless MD has documented this as cause of COPD.

It is the 5th digit for post partum.
