Patient comes to office two days ago for asthma and is given injection of SoluMedrol. She reports today for another injection ..... should we bill O/V or just injection fee and J Code for the med for this second visit?
The problem/condition has all ready been evaluated and a treatment plan established in a previous encounter. Unless there a new problem or the patient is worsening and needs a re-evaluation and possible additional workup by the provider only the injection/drug is billable. Any time a procedure is scheduled ahead of time, the procedure/supplies should be the only thing billed.
