Wiki Injection for Varicose Vein

CPT code 36471. Provider insists on billing units. Code states multiple veins, same leg, however insurance company is not denying multiple units, they are denying for maximum frequency per day. Any other advice you can share would be appreciated.

if the code states multiple as a part of the description then you can only bill with one unit and one line only. their denial is the same as multiple units. You will need to change the units to 1 prior to claim submission.

Could they be allowing multiple units to allow for billing both legs? Just a suggestion...I'm not really familiar with this code, but I do remember looking into these codes awhile back when one of our MD's considered performing these injections.
