Wiki infusions stop time

Hello,

I have question regarding infusion. Patient comes to ED, receives IV and pt is admitted or transferred. RN did not document a stop time and I know you can't code if there's no start/stop times. My question is if the IV is infusing on departure can you use that time as stop time? OR if the RN stop time is the same as departure time is that ok?? Where can I find good info on coding infusions?

I do the ER coding at my facility and I have always been told that as long as there is documentation from the nurse that it was infusing at the time of transfer you can use that time as the stop time. As far as documentation for it I do not know we usually just try and do a webinar or phone conference about it every year or two.

yes ,we too follow the same in facility coding we can consider that as stop time
