Medicare patient comes in for 99213... patient gets flu shot and pneumonia vaccine during visit... how do you code this... what modifiers would I use, if any... Do I charge for one administration charge or both...
You would do 2 admin codes (G0008 and G0009). However, the ICD9 code is the same for both vaccines V06.6. So your coding should look like this:
Q2038 (regular flu vaccine) or 90662 (high dose) dx code V06.6
90732 (pneumovax) dx code V06.6
G0008 (admin flu) dx code V06.6
G0009 (admin pneumonia) dx code V06.6
