Would like some advice on how to correct surgery claims that were coded incorrectly. It's has been discovered that a former employee of our practice was coding surgeries incorrectly for the last two years. We of course want to get these corrected but would like to do so without raising a red flag for an audit. Any recommendations? Should we send each corrected claim individually OR send all at once to each insurance company with a letterhead explaining what happened. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
