Is there any reason this cannot be done? I have reviewed the guidelines for both and see nothing that says you cannot bill this scenario. We have a NP who bills incident to and often is doing counseling re cancer, what to expect, medication management, etc.
Some one 'higher up' is saying only the billing provider (who would be the MD) can use time based coding. I say a NP 'qualified health care professional' acting on his behalf can do the same.
