Wiki In Situ - Denying excisions and currettes

BCBS and our medicare contractor FCSO seem to be denying SOME of our In Situ claims for medical necessity.

D04.62 for example.

I have both excisions and curettes denying. Is this happening to anyone else?

I would appeal these with the path report. There has been an audit revealing inappropriate usage of these codes with no supporting pathology.
