When you bill an in office procedure/ surgery like 19350, does this include the cost of supplies or is that separately billable? In the past we have collected a small facility fee from the patient to cover these costs, but I'm not sure if this is correct. Any help would be great! Please include citations if possible. THANKS

Surgical codes include all supplies necessary to accomplish the procedure and you cannot bill the patient separately for it. That is double dipping. If you want proof then bill the HCPC code for a surgical tray and see what happens on the EOB.. In all likelihood they will deny it and will also say you cannot bill the patient.
