1) Do you charge a patients insurance for a follow-up to a surgical office procedure ie hysteroscopy, biopsies and colops ?
Doctor wants to charge a fee for the follow-up as well as a co-pay because he feels he is reviewing biopsy results - is this legal to do?

I think I should be charging a 99024 and a Dx code of V6700 for a surgical follow-up- what do you think?

These procedures do not have global periods and would seem that additional office visits that meet medical necessity could be billed. Discussion of biopsy results is a billable charge. It would be wise to document time.
