I am trying to get some clarification on billing IL Medicaid MCO programs for outpatient chemical dependency services. I work for a facility (hospital), in which the facility is the rendering provider. We are having some issues with proper billing for IOP, Individual and Group billing. It seems like each of the MCO's is requiring different CPTs to be authorized. For traditional IL medicaid, they require an override for psychiatric services to S9480, is chemical considered "psychiatric services"? We have been billing our outpatient drug/alcohol dependency claims with 90834 for Individual and 90853 for group, and H0015 for IOP.
