I am coding for the pathologist-

2 different specimens, one on cervix and the other on endocervix same patient. 2-88305

It sounds like he did a stain on both. Would that be coded as:

A. 88342 x 1, 88341 x 1

B. 88342 x 2

88342 Immunohistochemistry or immunocytochemistry, per specimen; initial single antibody stain procedure
88341 Immunohistochemistry or immunocytochemistry, per specimen; each additional single antibody stain procedure (List separately in addition to code for primary procedure)

So, for each specimen, you can only have one charge of 88342. Any additional stains done on that specimen would be 88341.

So, for example, if two different stains were done on each of 2 specimens, it would be coded like this:
A. 88342, 88341
B. 88342, 88341

Could you provide more specifics about which stains were done on which specimen?
