Hello. If patient has Medicare Part A only and Medicaid as 2nd - will Medicaid cover if the patient doesn't have Part B? ie, can my provider still bill for the inpt services to Medicare, get the denial and we can bill Medicaid?
If the patient only has Medicare part A then you would bill to the Medicaid insurance only for the physicians charges. No need to bill to Medicare at all. You would act like they only have the Medicaid.
In our state we would bill to MCR to get the denial or Medicaid will not process. Your state Medicaid will have guidelines on if you should bill MCR primary.
