Hello,

I would like some input/suggestions on what ICD10 you would use for "Fraying of the anteriosuperior labrum" of the right shoulder that was debrided. M75.81 has come up and also S46.011A - The injury to the patient's right shoulder was almost a year ago that was a partial rotator cuff tear. Does the provider need to mention "lesion" to use M75.81? My thinking is that the fraying of the labrum is due to the injury of the rotator cuff. Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you,

What does the header state as all the diagnoses? Is everything being called acute or are all the other dx in the M section?

I have used M24.1_ before depending on the documentation. The labrum is articular cartilage/fibrocartilage. I have seen it called M75.8_ also.
M75 area is for soft tissue issues of the shoulder too.
It's a toss up.
