I NEED HELP!!!!! I WENT TO A MEDICARE CLASS AND WAS TOLD THE 7TH CHARACTER FOR ICD10 CODING WAS FOR ANYTHING UNEXPECTING NOW IM GOOGLING TO GET A FULL LIST OF ALL THE 7TH CHARACTERS AND THE MEANING ALL I SEE IS THE 7TH CHARACTER IS ONLY FOR FRACTURES DOES ANYONE KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS AND ALSO WHERE I CAN FIND THE LIST OF THE 7TH CHARACTERS AND THE MEANING THANK YOU!!!!

Look in the code book and the guidelines. I am not sure what you mean by "anything unexpecting". The 7th characters A-S are used when the code tells you one is required. At this time all injuries as well as most external cause codes, and pathological fractures all need a 7th character.
