In preparing our organization for ICD 10 we have come across an anticipated dilemma in filing our global obstetric packages. As I am sure you know, we are required to bill a HEDIS line with all deliveries outlining the dates of prenatal care on the same claim as the delivery code. These dates will most definitely straddle the ICD 9 and ICD 10 dates for months following implementation. Claims are not able to be sent with both an ICD 9 and ICD 10 on the same claim form. This will prevent our global ob packages from going through with the HEDIS line. As of now, all claims with missing information are automatically rejected. Does anyone know what the protocol for claim submissions will be once October 1st hits. Global ob packages are a high dollar item for us and we simply cannot have all of these claims delayed for payment.
