Has anyone been doing these? I use 0191T secondary to 66984 and Medicare reimbursement isn't what the rep says it should be. He also says 0191t should be coded first and sites Medicare Claims Manual which seems to apply to ASC's only (We're a HOPD). What to do, what to do?

Hi Bruce,

I work at an Ophthalmic ASC and have successfully billed the iStent to Medicare several times with no issues. (Knock on wood since our MAC just switched from Palmetto to Noridian!) You're correct, as an ASC we code 66984 + 0191T. When we first started using the iStent a Glaukos rep provided us with a billing resource guide which I have attached for you. It addresses the HOPD HOPPS and states the APC 0191T points to is 0673. I hope you find this helpful and good luck!
