Just a general question about pathology coding for a hysterectomy.
If there is a hysterectomy done for a patient that had a prior tubal ligation, and when removing the uterus the tubes were removed as well, but they were not attached to the uterus, is the code just 88309 or do you need to have the 88305 if biopsies were performed on the tubes?
