i was told that in order to charge for hydration the rate must meet or exceed 125 ml per hour, unless a child of course where fluids generally are not pushed at this rate. does anyone have any knowledge on this?
It must be documented at a therapeutic rate and for most patients anything less that 125cc/hr is for convenience to keep the vein open and does not provide therapeutic hydration.
