Busy family medicine practice in Abilene, TX is seeking an experienced Certified Professional Coder-Billing Specialist for a full time remote, or in office position. The ideal candidate should be reliable, efficient, organized, with an upbeat and friendly attitude, and past medical office experience. The Billing Specialist will compile, process, and maintain all claims for services provided by the practice to ensure all claims are submitted to payers timely and without error. This includes, but is not limited to; communicating with providers to obtain any missing information, monitoring and correcting hold accounts, make appropriate account adjustments based on office policies, and preform quarterly E/M audits. Must have working knowledge of insurance and coding guidelines, and attend weekly meetings with billing management. The Billing Specialist will be expected to perform all other duties assigned. Athena experience is a plus!
Knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10cm.
Knowledge of usual and customary electronic and paper billing processes.
Knowledge of medical practices, and terminology.
Knowledge of Word and Excel programs.
Skilled in planning, and organizing. Strong team member and family medicine experience a plus
Skilled in problem solving.
Skilled in verbal and written communication.
Ability to read, interpret and apply policies and procedures.
Ability to set priorities among multiple requests.
Follow HIPAA guidelines.
