Wiki How to Dx code after initial injury??

I'm new to ortho and have this question. I read in my AAPC book that you use the E codes for injuries on the initial treatment date. After that, how can you code injuries and fractures without using the 800 series of codes, so that you don't have to use the E codes that would need to be submitted with them? I hope that makes sense. Any imput would be appreciated.

If you're coding for after care, you could use V codes like the V54.1 series for various healing of traumatic fractures with no other codes.
